Male Yeast Infection

Male YeastFungi of the Candida species, usually Candida albicans, mainly cause yeast infections. Fungi are present in the human body anyway, but they are kept under control by good bacteria in the gut. When this does not happen, a yeast infection might occur. Some yeast infections can be superficial but can also worsen to life threatening degrees.

There are many causes of male yeast infection. Antibiotics that are prescribed for the flu, or something similar, work by killing off pathogens, but they may also kill of several of the good bacteria that your body needs. This can result in the ratio between good bacteria and yeast in the small intestine is imbalanced, so that fungi thrives, and then spread to other parts of the body. A weak immune system can cause yeast infections, as can sex with a female who has a yeast infection. Some other causes are alcohol, peanuts, and wheat and barley products, all of which are very common foods that are universally contaminated with moulds, which also kill bacteria that control the population of yeast in the gut.
