Toothache Home Remedies
A toothache is when there is pain experienced in or around a tooth. Usually this pain is the result of a problem in the tooth or jaw, and examples of such issues are gum disease, a cracked tooth, infection in the dental pulp, or a cavity. The emergence of wisdom teeth, which is a normal process, can also be quite painful.
The pain of a toothache is sometimes bearable but often it can be excruciating, and it can be made worse through chewing, or by changes in the temperature. There are many home remedies for toothaches, which are outlined below.
One of the most famous home remedies for a toothache is garlic. Add a little piece of rock salt to one clove of garlic, then put it on the tooth, with a piece of cotton on top so you won’t taste the garlic, if you wish. This helps to reduce the pain, and sometimes can even get rid of it completely.
A newer remedy that researchers have found is onion. Consuming one raw onion a day can help prevent toothache in the first place, as it can kill any germs found in the mouth. If you have a toothache then placing a small piece on onion on the tooth or gum can relieve the pain.
Lime, being rich in vitamin C, can help in the maintenance of healthy teeth. It can help prevent decay, cavities, bleeding gums and toothache.
Wheatgrass juice is another popular remedy, as it serves as a great mouthwash that can help with tooth decay and toothache pains. Wheatgrass can also be chewed to gain benefit from it. It helps to remove any toxins in the mouth and keeps bacteria in check.
Some pepper powder and a teaspoon of salt is another remedy that can not only prevent toothache, bleeding gums, bad breath but also cures sensitive gums and toothaches.
